
Benefits and Money Advice Service is a partnership between major charities The Royal British (TRBL), the Royal
Air Force Benevolent Fund (RAFBF), Citizen Advice and Citizen Advice Northern Ireland. TRBL and the RAFBF have
funded Caseworkers at various Citizen Advice bureaux around the country forming a network of advisers giving
supportive assistance to serving and ex-Service personnel, their partners and families on benefits and money
matters. In Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire the North East Derbyshire Citizens Advice Bureau has been funded
and they can give advice throughout the two counties.
The BMA Team at the North East Derbyshire Citizens Advice Bureau can give Debt and Money Advice and assist on
all aspects of debt and on the options available. Advice can be given face to face or over the telephone, and
the Team regularly conduct home visits to vulnerable clients and those with special needs.
The Team can advise and assist on Debt Management Plans, Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVA's), bankruptcy,
bailiffs, court forms, creditor negotiation and repossessions including representation at court hearings in some
cases. The bureau has a high success rate with applications on behalf of clients of various charitable organisations
including The Royal British Legion.
North East Derbyshire Citizens Advice Bureau has produced a
Debt Management Plan & Guide to assist you to deal with your debts. It is completely
free to use with any payments you make going to your creditors in full, which is good news for you and for
them. There are no start up costs or fees to pay and the CAB do not receive any funding, commission or donations from
creditors out of your payments. A debt help guide and information pack to assist clients who are facing debt and
