2 - 4 September 2011
This year was the 30th Anniversary of the Chatsworth Country Fair at Chatsworth, Derbyshire DE45 1PP. This was a
three day event taking place from Friday 2nd September to Sunday 4th September 2011. The Official Opening was performed
by this year's Show President former Yorkshire and England Cricketer Michael Vaughan.
There were all kinds of stands and stalls around the show ground including The Royal British Legion County Marquee.
Entertainment included massed pipe and military bands, demonstrations and parades, hot-air balloons and parachuting
displays. Country activities included clay pigeon shooting, horse shoeing, ferret racing, archery and sheep dog trials.
The highlight for many was the superb display by the Red Arrows which also proved to be very emotional, being the first
display since the tragic accident at Eastbourne. Many were able to sign the book of condolence in the Red Arrows tent.
The Country Fair was a roaring success for Derbyshire Royal British Legion and it culminated with the draw for the 90th
Anniversary Raffle, which took place in the County Marquee. In attendance in the County Marquee were the County Recruiting
Team; Yvonne Robinson, Dilys Elliker and Stuart Allen, County Committee Members; Brian Brown, Ron Elliker, John Price
and Colin Picken They were assisted by the County Fund Raiser Christine Selden with Pat Price and Janet Picken.
