Welfare Staff Earn Caseworkers Thanks

Autumn 2009

It is uncommon for letters, photographs or articles from Derbyshire to be published in the 'Legion' magazine, but the following letter complete with photograph appeared in the Autumn 2009 issue.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to all the staff at the Notts and Derbyshire Welfare Office. As a Welfare Caseworker they are always giving us praise for the work we do. However very little credit is given to them. Paul Mullingani, our County Manager, and his staff are always ready with a smile to greet us when we take all the problems we find to them. I know the work must be stressful and the workload never ceases to increase, as we all know and appreciate.

I have now found that I have many health problems myself and am unable to continue to contribute my services as I always have done in the past. This has not stopped our relationship in any way and their constant concern for my health, which they show, is more than appreciated and knowing they care does a lot to help me.

In conclusion, I just wish to say that the work they do is appreciated by all Caseworkers and we have the greatest respect for the cheerful way they carry out their work.
