Derbyshire County Council are
to hold a Civic Reception to celebrate the 90th
Anniversary of
The Royal British Legion. The British Legion was formed in
on Sunday 15 May 1921 receiving the Royal title on
the 50th Anniversary in 1971.
The Civic Reception for Derbyshire Royal British Legion will be held at
Derbyshire County Council Offices, County Hall, Smedley Street,
Matlock, Derbyshire DE4 3AG on
Friday 25th
March 2011, starting at 7.30pm it will run through to 9.30pm. The
guests at the celebration will include representative members from the
eleven Branches in Derbyshire that were also formed in 1921 and
therefore celebrate their 90th Anniversary. The eleven Branches are:
Bakewell
and District, Belper, Buxton, Chesterfield, Cromford, Ilkeston, Long
Eaton,
Matlock and Darley Dale, Spondon,
Swadlincote and
District, and
Wirksworth
